Please remember that for Pets comfort it is required that the Crate allows your Pet to stand up, turn around, and lie down comfortably with at least 2-3 inches of clearance above their head. The length of the Crate should be the Pets length, plus half their leg length.
To measure your Pet – Measure from nose base to tail (length), and top of head to floor (height)
Below is some useful initial guidance, but it is imperative you seek Veterinary assistance, or visit government websites for official information, as rules do change, and we cannot be held responsible for guidance always being completely up to date.
Before any of the other procedures for pet travel are carried out, your pet must be fitted with a microchip so it can be properly identified.
After the microchip has been fitted, your pet must be vaccinated against rabies. There is no exemption to this requirement. Even if your pet has a current rabies vaccination, rabies boosters must be kept up-to-date. The length of the waiting period before entry to the UK is 21 days after the first vaccination date, however, a waiting period is not required for subsequent entries into the UK, provided rabies boosters are up-to-date.
Please note that if the vaccination is in two parts, the 21-day wait will be from the date of the second vaccination.
For animals travelling from an EU country, you should ensure they have an official EU pet passport. If the animal is travelling from a non-EU listed country or territory, you will need to obtain an official third country veterinary certificate.
Prior to entering the UK, all dogs (including assistance dogs) must be treated for tapeworm. The treatment has to be administered by a vet no less than 24 hours and no more than 120 hours before the dog's scheduled arrival time in the UK.
Please note all travel documents and veterinary requirements will be the responsibility of the owners, and these will be checked by the drivers before commencing the journey. Failing to meet the requirements, your Pet will not be able to be transported.
